Top Engineering Colleges of Bhopal

Bhopal is a beautiful city and capital of Madhya Pradesh state. It is known for its lakes and hills. Bhopal is endowed with so much natural beauty that a visitor wishes to stayed here more.

However, recently Bhopal has also started to assert itself in the arena of professional education. So many engineering colleges have come up in the city. But, sadly the direction of majority of these colleges is to earn money rather than provide education to students. Very few of them are good enough to be considered for admission so that a bright career can be ensured.

This is my attempt to enlist five best Engineering colleges of Bhopal. NIT Bhopal is not included in the list because it is far much better than any other colleges in the city and it is simply not appropriate to club it with other colleges of the city. Other two Government Engineering Colleges [of Barakatullah, and RGPV] are not good enough to be included in the top five colleges.

1. Lakshmi Narayan College of Technology (LNCT) Bhopal: LNCT is the oldest private engineering college of Bhopal. It may be considered as the college which led to the engineering education movement in Bhopal. Ever since its first batch, every other private college started to see it as a model college. It has gained rock solid reputation among HRs of various IT companies. Top companies don’t hesitate to visit the campus. The institute is also endowed with great faculties. If you see the records of students then LNCT is far much better than any private colleges of even Indore.

2. Truba Institute of Engineering and Information Technology: This College was started in 2001 by a group of professionals. In a very short span of time, the name and fame of Truba group skyrocketed. More than the handling of the college, it was the performance of its first batch which is responsible for the success of this college. Currently, with sprawling campus, meticulously selected highly qualified faculties, and performance of alumni have made this institute something worth considering.

3. Oriental Institute of Science and Technology: OIST was once considered as the best private college in Bhopal. For consecutive two years, it had outperformed LNCT. However, due to some pathetic management decisions led by Mr. Thakral and his family the OIST is degrading. Exposure and opportunities to students should always be considered as the best criteria to judge the performance of any institute. On these two scales, the OIST is worse than LNCT and Truba. However, it has better infrastructure and the campus is really worth visiting, but sadly the education and values being imparted on students are not good enough. Prakash Jha had famously used the OIST campus to shoot some part of his super-hit film Rajniti.

4. Sagar Institute of Technology: This is another surprise in the list. This institute is not that old enough to be included in a rational list of top five engineering colleges. But, sometimes surprises should be welcomed when these are coming from very good and noble intentions of founders. Sagar is an edifice which is built on very noble ideas. The institute also hosts one of the best campuses in Bhopal. More than that the teaching arrangement in the institute is quite innovative. The result is the success of its students in their chosen field.

5. Technocrats Institute of Technology + Bansal Institute of Technology + RKDF : These three institutes are of same standard. There have not been any innovations in the teaching methodology in these three institutes nor these institutes are favorite among various companies. Being a bit old, these are good than other mushrooming engineering colleges in Bhopal. However, when it comes to private engineering colleges in Bhopal students should consider only top four – rest including these three are just GARBAGE.
