72Indian Banking – private and public – is seeing an exponential growth. The growth has ensured that large no. of officers is required and hence a heavy recruitment drive is going on in both sectors. Axis Bank, one of the most respected private banks of India, has started its own personalized program for Probationary Officer (PO). However, the bank has chosen to name it quite differently. Probationary Officers program of Axis Bank is called as Young Bankers Program.
Axis Bank has decided to impart specialized domain based training to graduates to make them efficient enough to stand fearlessly in fiercely competitive Indian Banking industry. The training is being provided by Manipal Global School, Bengaluru. PO programs of ICICI Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank is also being done within the same campus.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to participate in Axis Bank Young Bankers Program, an applicant should be more than 21 years and less than 24 years – according to the specified date of Axis Bank.
The minimum educational qualification asked by bank is graduation. It should also be mentioned here that the bank has asked that only those candidates will be considered who have excellent academic record throughout their career. Fresher and those who have less than two years of experience can also apply for this process.
The Bank will shortlist candidates according to their criteria. The decision of the bank in this regard will be final.
Selection Process:
The selection process of Axis Bank Young Bankers Program consists of two stages. First short listed candidates will be asked to appear in an online test. This online test is to check the aptitude of aspirants. The duration of the online test will be of 2 hours and will test aspirants in the following areas:
- Reasoning and Logic Skills
- English Language
- Quantitative Aptitude
- Test of Computer Knowledge
The result of this online test will be declared within two weeks. Selected candidates will be asked appear for the personal interview with the Bank.
How to Crack Young Bankers Program
All two stages are important to clear the exam. The first thing that all aspirants should keep in mind is the need to have their basics sound. Aptitude test demands accuracy. There will be negative marking hence accuracy will be vital. During the preparation stage aspirants should try to be consistent. Aptitude preparation demands consistent practice. R S Agarwal’s book on Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning is sufficient if that is complemented with a good Bank PO guide. For English one should try to be well prepared with basics of grammar. Interview preparation is easy. One must understand the Know Your Customers (KYC) norms of RBI related to Indian Banking. There might be some tough questions related to current affairs with a reference to the day-to-day functioning of Indian Banking. In the end, it is the confidence that matters most. Your answer must show that you are going to work with the bank by keeping integrity and probity as your utmost weapon.
