BSNL JTO Recruitment 2012
74Despite lots of expectation which had no doubt been laced with rumors, BSNL didn’t publish any notification for Junior Telecom Officers (JTO) recruitment in 2011. Lacs of Engineering students waited for the same, coaching institutes even printed the pamphlets and study materials but that was all futile. BSNL was said to have started the recruitment process in February 2011 which was postponed till May and then again after that we are yet to hear any word regarding this in any of the publication of BSNL.
The labor union monthly publication of BSNL employees is hinting that the notification is round the corner. However, it is the same labor union which is hindering the process because they want something special for working TTAs.

Though, the no. of posts on offer is only three and that's also only for UP West Circle, but it definitely rekindled the hope that BSNL JTO Recruitment will come in January - February 2012. When Should We Expect the Notification?
As said above, BSNL had started the process for asking Indian engineers to join them as JTO, but they couldn’t do that. Since, process was started it means to say the management was feeling the need. That’s why we should expect the notification to come.
Then, there are some practical problems that BSNL is facing. The ministry which controls it is being cornered for 2G scam; the huge switching deal has been nullified, and on the top of all the company is showing loss since last three years. JTO recruitment has always been a big exercise for BSNL because of no. of candidates finally selected and no. of applicants. It will only happen when the cloud over it including its controlling ministry will get down, at least a bit.
Currently, you should not expect any sort of recruitment notification in Air India. The case is the same for BSNL. Though, it definitely needs employees to stay competitive, but it can’t go on that path because of financial problems. It will continue to depend on outsourcing which may seems to be a joke because of its being a Public Sector Units.
The Prime Minister has also assured the he will try his best to save BSNL. If his office recommends some funding for BSNL then you should expect the notification.
And, if the government decided to go for shed some shares and bring an IPO for the company then you should expect a notification for JTO. The same had happened with CIL, which came out with the notification for Management Trainee in 2011 after it went public.
As of now, I would suggest aspirants and engineers to prepare for other exams and don’t think about any JTO notification from BSNL.
Once there will be any internal news then I will post that here.
